What is the network?

The “Network” is the international geographical and virtual framework for members, staff gathered behind the common objective to enhance and participate in the professional mobility for African diaspora scientist, researchers and academicians in Europe, USA and other parts of the world to Africa.

The network brings together different “member” institutions, staff and individuals interested to promote the participation of African diaspora in Africa. The “Programmes” (Professional Mobility Programmes”, covers different components and activities aimed at the professional mobility, placement and contribution of African diaspora scientist, researchers and academicians to African countries. Who are members?

Members belong to the general network i.e., everybody: staff, fellows, stakeholder institutions and individuals playing a role in promoting the academic and scientific contribution of African diaspora in Africa under the Europe-Africa.

Who is a fellow?

A fellow is an expert of African dissent resident oustside the African continent (Europe, USA, Canada, South America and Asia) who has been selected and participated in teaching and or research activities and any related industrial role under a Europe-Africa Professional Mobility Programme. He/she becomes a member of a network after 3 participation as a Fellow but remains a fellow after one selection and participation in the programme.

The Fellowships will cover expert-colleagues of the African intellectual diaspora, citizens of the European countries and other parts of the world and their networks who support the virtual and contact teaching between Europe and Africa, helping to promote the Europe-Africa Professional Programmes.

Does DIANA ry charge fee from the participating Africa Institutions?

Diana ry does not charge any fee for the placement of the expert but some degree of cost-sharing (subject to specific negotiations and agreements) (e.g. Accommodation and local transportation) can provide added advantage for selection of a particular institution or unit in DIANA ry’s activities.

It provides clues of the university’s engagement and appreciation of the development (donor) programme sponsoring the diaspora placement. Cost sharing is however not an eligibility criteria. In the case of distance teaching, the university unit provides information about existing digital infrastructure and platforms, internet bandwidth and the institutional culture on online teaching.

Does DIANA ry charge fees from participating fellows and experts?

No! But DIANA ry encourages viable diaspora experts who have something to offer to the African country or university or share some cost of their placement to declare before the placement.
